My Newest Skin Care Addiction

They have quite a wide array of skin care products ranging from soaps, toners, facial washes, bb creams, serums, oils, salves, lotions, scrubs, muds, clays, and many more.
I was searching for chemical free products to try just because I got tired of the commercialized chemical base products in the market which doesn't work. So when I stumbled upon this online shop on instagram, I jumped into the bandwagon and spent my hard earned cash to see if what they claim proves to be true.
It's been two months now and I am so happy to say that my decision to go organic was not a waste. Eden's Paradise' products did work for me. I have not tried all of their products but most if the ones I tried are really effective.

It's AUGUST and it's my baby girl's birth month. I actually promised her a beach party but because of unprecedented and unfortunate events a week before her anticipated birthday bash, we had to settle for a simple family beach bonding instead.
The beach option was actually cancelled but she begged for it and her begging for something she really love is my weakness. So I arranged for the three of us to spend half day at the beach just to grant her birthday wish.
We went to RMPC Beach Resort in Camudmud, Samal, Davao del Norte. I really intended to spend a day here with my hubby and baby because I wanted to personally experience the beach. This is so I can recommend it to my coworkers for our next team building activity.
What I loved about the place is that it's really clean. I actually saw the maintenance personnel going back and forth pushing wheel barrows and picking up fallen leave and other trash. The water is also very clean (evidence is the pool of fish swimming even in the shallower part of the resort). There are lots of trees to shield you from the very angry sun. They also have a basketball court and beach volleyball court if you wish to sweat out before plunging in the cool waters.
The only negative thing I could ever think of is the road going to the resort. Don't get me wrong, the highway was actually cemented but the 400 meter dirt/rocky road leading to the resort is really a challenge. It's a little steep going down and really rocky but the beach resort is really worth all that hassle.
Here are some shots of the resort's amenities:

Open Cottages |
Dormitory |
Pavilion |
Canteen |
Function Hall |

Here are pics of our family outing.
Here's how much we spent for a half day in the beach:
Ferry Boat - P120 two way (we have our own motorcycle)
Fees and charges - P180 (@ P60/pax - day tour) entrance fee, P35 one long table, P15 (@ P5/chair) monoblock chairs
(If you don't have your own ride, I am guessing the motorcycle/tricycle fare is around P50 one way)
Here's a shot of their Fees and Charges for your guidance :)

It's June -- our love month. The same date the Filipino people celebrate our Independence, my hubby and I celebrate our love.
So to celebrate five years of flowing love, we decided to spend a whole day at the beach. Just the three of us, me, hubby, and baby!
We chose to spend our special day at Seagrass Beach Resort, Samal because I was drawn to the pictures of the beach and I also heard good feedback from some people.

I didn't consider myself an online shopaholic. I was more of a cautious online shopper. I made sure I don't over spend and I only bought items that I could really use.
I was once an impulsive buyer and that was a part of my past that I never wanted to return to. I have successfully learned to control my spending and fortunately I became a wiser shopper.
You don't need to over spend on your purchases. Just make sure to buy stuff you need and stuff you will actually use. AND DON'T HOARD!!
Remember, when you know how to control your spendings you'll enjoy your purchases more!!!
Thanks for reading and enjoy shopping!!!

Summer in the Philippines including Mindanao is super HOT!! Temperature rise super high and the threat of dehydration and heat stroke is looming around the corner. Add the rotational power outage to the extreme heat and you will definitely wish you're underwater (like Dyesebel)...
Since the extreme heat is causing me so much distress, I wanted so much to get away from the busy city and enjoy the cool breeze of the ocean. And that is exactly what I did.
See ya later summer sun! Hello Samal Island!

Then one day I saw Kris Aquino flaunt her "travel must-haves" in her morning show Kris TV. One item caught my attention and got me really interested --- the bag organizer or pack cube. So I searched for a cheap alternative of the one Kris had.
Thank God for internet and Google, I finally found the one I was looking for in a blog talking about her online purchases. So long story short, I found the online shop called Little Emily Shop.
So come March of 2014, I was finally able to putting my pack cube to the test!!

Himalaya Gentle Daily Exfoliating Face Wash
7:41:00 PMYES! I finally found the perfect facial wash for me. I've been experimenting with home remedies, trying out different brands of facial w...
Let me just tell you a little something about my pimple/acne dilemma. I am not really the acne/pimple prone kind of person. Actually, I only do get pimples when I have my period and it's only about less than 3 at a time. However, out of curiosity and desperation to even out my blemishes I tried to use this organic sunflower oil which promised to lighten pimple marks. To my utter surprise, it did not only "DID NOT WORK", it also broke me out BIG TIME! I started seeing small bumps on my left cheek which gradually grew out to become medium sized pimples (mind you it wasn't my period yet). I continued using my then current facial wash (Belo) but it wasn't doing anything--not multiplying it but not getting rid of it either. In my desperation to get rid of them I switched facial wash (Ponds Acne Clear) but it got worse. After 2 and a half weeks of religiously using it I broke out even more. OH NO!
So I went for home remedies I learned from the internet. There was the calamine lotion, the ice cubes, the lemon juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, and tons more. I tried the calamine and the ice cubes. The ice cubes do relieve the swelling of the acne and the calamine helped in drying out the pustules. However, it takes about more than 3 days for the acne to finally die out and flatten. And despite my efforts not to pick them out I still get the dark mark.
After carefully scanning through the shelves of facial washes and soaps at the local supermarket, I stumbled upon Himalaya Gentle Daily Exfoliating Face Wash.
It's not entirely the answer to my pimples but it did improve my skin. I noticed that it helped lessen my breakouts and my skin went to freaking scary to normal. I still get the occasional pimples (pre-mens breakouts) but no longer the over sized ones.
Have you tried this facial wash? Do share your thoughts and let me know.
XOXO
Hilda
Vanity: Not My Thing!

I just wanted to share what a roller coaster ride I've been through in the past year with regards to my face! Yes, I unfortunately relied too much on beauty reviews on facial products and began trying on various facial washes, oils, moisturizers, toners, scrubs, and home remedies! I screwed up BIG TIME.
In just 4 months time, zits became a permanent occupant of my cheeks and forehead! Yes, it's that AWFUL! Though I had a lot of time regretting everything, I know I had to move on. And so I did.
Now, I realized that VANITY is not in my destiny. I am not born to become vain. I should have accepted my blemishes, uneven skin tone, occasional dry skin, and emphasized oily face. Though my face isn't perfect, I wasn't really a victim of acne back then. However, because of my desire to clear out the blemish, even out the skin tone, and keep my face more presentable and pleasant looking, I made a mistake that permanently made acne and me inseparable.
Lesson learned and I learned it the hard way. I was born and raised simply and without any trace of vanity. I should have stood by that upbringing. Had I known, I should have not tried experimenting.
Oh well, the past has gone and could never return again. So I'm staying away from anything that's vain. That's not important anymore as long as I have a good hygiene and I look, smell, and feel clean!
So embrace yourself and don't let commercialism ruin your perfect face! Stay pretty and happy! :)
