We have not booked in advance our accommodation in Moalboal because we are not certain that we will make it to Moalboal. Our itinerary is very dependent on the events of our first day in Cebu. Since we are coming from Bantayan Island in the north and Moalboal is located in the south, we have not made advance plans because everything will depend whether we are able to arrive back in Cebu City on time for a bus transfer to Moalboal or not.

When all four of us finish preparing to checkout of Ogtong Cave, my sister, thankfully, has successfully booked a room in Zen Rooms by Gerty's Place. Despite the very late decision, we are able to secure an accommodation in Moalboal so there is no turning back. We arrived at Santa Fe port but missed the 8:30 AM trip so we decide to eat breakfast first as we wait for the 9:30 AM trip.

We are able to arrive back in Cebu City after three hours of van ride from Hagnaya port to SM City Cebu. Since it's already 1:00 PM we decide to take our lunch because the bus ride to Moalboal will be a long one. And it is long indeed, it took us three and a half hours travel. When we arrived to Gerty's Place, we are greeted by a courteous staff. She is all smiles which is a big relief from the long travel. She give us our keys and lead us to our rooms.






Gerty's place is located away from the beach but it's okay as we are not in the mood to go night swimming. It's farther from the main highway or town center of Moalboal but transpo is not a problem. The place is also near restaurants so it isn't such a big deal that it's farther from the main road.

The room we got is different from the one my siblings got. Our aircondition unit is quite old but good thing it is working well during the night and we have a good night sleep. Our room is smaller than that of my siblings and it looks a bit outdated than theirs. The shower is also a bit outdated and the shower head seems to need cleaning because water is not coming out properly even if it's on full. However, the bed and pillows are comfortable so it's alright.

Overall, the accommodating and helpful staff, nice owner, location, and ambiance of the place is commendable. Also, this place is budget friendly and among the cheaper options within the area. There are cheaper options along Panagsama beach which are more Backpacker friendly. However, for a double occupancy aircon room with own bathroom, Gerty's place is actually a good deal especially if you are looking for comfort without breaking the bank. You can book through Zen Rooms to get better/cheaper price.
